Plot: Special Forces demolition expert Quinn Taylor (Michael Baldoz) returns home to the Arizona desert after a botched assignment in a tunnel during the Gulf War that led to the death of his partner. While his father and brother are happy to see him -- not to mention his old girlfriend (Monique Scott) -- Quinn is dismayed to learn his father has considering selling their rocky mountain to a ruthless drug lord (Richard Lynch), who wants to use their system of old gold mines to hoard his contraband. But Quinn and his brother think there's gold in the hill after all, so they refuse to sell -- which brings out an army of beefy baddies who try to strong-arm them into selling. The fisticuffs give way to fireworks in a fiery life-or-death finale. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide

Who is the Bad Guy
Added 6/12/2002

Just by chance I picked up this movie as a rental...The movie in general is a good low budget film...But the bad guy is great...who is he and why have we not seen him before ...could this guy be a Hollywood sleeper. The movie is very high energy but the bad guy is so expressionless the way I describe him to my friends is the "Darth Vader" of this movie.

Hot new actress

-- "Reflex Action delivers with exceptional martial arts scenes and menacing villians, but it is the smoldering heat from a hot new actress (Monique) that ads the final spice ingredient to this independent film. When the two brothers seem ready to split ways at the time when the family needs them most, it is the pure magnestism of this mysterious and exotic creature that brings the fire back just in time for the explosive finale. I wouldn't be surprised if this young woman shows up in many more independent and feature films in the near future."

Explosions? YOU BET!!
Added 1/26/2002

Great independent film, a huge effort for a cast working on a small budget. The story centers around a war vet (Quinn)who comes home to find a brother who still lives in the past, a mysterious beautiful girl who found shelter living with his father and brother, and a vicious drug lord who wants to use Quinn's father's gold mine for its tunnels leading to Mexico. There are some twists to the story, and if you appreciate film making you'll like this movie.
