Plot: Lindsay Lohan stars in the mind-bending psychological thriller I Know Who Killed Me. She plays Aubrey Fleming, an unfortunate young woman whose life -- and body -- are irreparably damaged following an abduction by a heinous serial killer. Though Aubrey pulls off a miraculous escape from the clutches of the madman, she does so with deep-seated psychological scars, plus the loss of a hand, a leg, and untold amounts of blood. While Aubrey's parents view her return as a veritable answer to their prayers, they must soon confront an outrageous and seemingly inexplicable twist: the girl who returned claims another identity -- that of a young woman named Dakota. She also exhibits a wholly different personality and mannerisms than Aubrey did, and -- frighteningly -- insists that Aubrey is still very much alive, in the throes of the maniac's grip, and only inches away from death. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Thank you from someone who's been there!

I've spent more than 20 years dealing with similar issues explored in the film! What this film brings to light is the importance of validation to people who have suffered from horrendous crimes. Plus the amazing courage and strength that comes from overcoming and moving forward. It brings to light important issues many people may be unaware of -- how events can have a life-altering, destructive impact long into our future even while we battle to overcome the effects. The film also reveals the power and truth of positive interaction amongst people ... and that there are many types of healthy love and all sorts of positive relationships. While many may find parts of the film disbelieving, this film is very similar to my own truth. I am thankful to the group of people who brought forward the themes in this film, with a relieving touch of humour and compassion.

I keep being surprised

I keep being surprised by Lindsey Lohan - my natural instincts are, because she is a high-profile and somewhat 'scandalous' public figure to write her off as just being famous for being famous and no more - but she is, however, an excellent actress and never better than in this film.

Add that to the fact that Jane Fonda is always good and Felicity Huffman a consummate professional then it is not surprising that they make what could be a rather squalid plot into a very watchable film.

Not a movie for most!
Added 7/15/2009

I went into this movie thinking it was going to be a romantic drama, I am not sure where the romantic is in this movie. This movie in points disgusted me allot. Most of which was played by Lindsay Lohan, before you think of watching this movie with your family at all you need to know that there is allot of discussion on rape, alcohol and such, not something I would even watch with my brother. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because I could not give it 2 1/2 other wise I would have. Definitely a movie I will not watch again.

This movie is actually pretty good. I was skeptical about watching it but Jane Fonda and Lindsay delivered great performances. I reccommend seeing this movie at least once.

This movie about "Killed" me

This movie was a waste of time. I hated this movie and hugely angry at myself for even attempting myself to watch it. I'm usually a huge fan of Lindsay Lohan but really.....the movie was just awful. It wasn't her acting is was the plot, base of the story...everything. Lindsay did an amazing job as an actress but its not one of her best. Lindsay may be going through a rough patch in her personal life but I think she's starting to attempt a comeback. Britney Spears made a comeback, and everybody loves her again. But lets hope Lindsay can find her way out. But yeah, it's a horrible, horrible movie! I threw it away or its on the bottom of my movie cabinet, I'm not sure and nor do I care. I've seen way better. Epic failure. 1/5

Blue
Added 10/18/2009

So i watched this movie 3 times now... and i could watch it another 8 times. I have no idea why but i like this movie a lot. Well for starters, I love the cover box art and that right there is always a plus. I liked Lindsay Lohan in Just My Luck and other such films so what the heck you know? I loved the blue color effect throughout the movie. Blue is one of my fav. colors and it reminded me of Sin City, where the certain color stood out while the rest was all black and white..... The pole dancing was always fun to watch and the movie in general is
good enough to be seen at least once by everyone.

I'm kind of impartial
Added 10/4/2009

I think this film was unfairly branded a disaster right from the start because the star, Lindsay Lohan, is more known for being a real-life tranwreck than anything else. But the truth is, I don't mind her as an actress, and she's actually fairly competent in a role that could easily turn into parody and undermine the "heavyness" of what the story is all about. I also thought Julia Ormand was great as the concerned and confused mother.

The plot was interesting, and kept me engaged until the very end, though in the process managed to throw a few curveballs that I felt were unsubstantiated and meant only to make the viewer more confused. It also seemed like the scenes of Lindsay dancing in the strip joint went on forever. I guess a lot of guys wouldn't complain, lol, but it seemed pretty gratuitous anyhow, even if there was no actual nudity. It's like, we get it, you're low class, now move on. Lastly, there was a general "made for tv" feeling about the whole thing, suggesting the budget was limited. That didn't affect the performances, but some of the graphic effects came off as corny.

In the end, I'm impartial to the movie. I found it in the bargain bin at a chain store, and it was worth watching once for the price. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to recommend it, but I also felt like I needed to defend it against the people who said it was the epitomy of bad film-making. Rest assured there is certainly worse stuff out there than this little movie.
