A young Reese Witherspoon will steal your hear as the young Dani, a fourteen year-old girl who has discovered her first love in Court, a friend of the family.
She plays this character with such emotion, heart and the soul of someone who was a lot older than her young age at the time. Dani steals your heart as her love falls for her older sister, who try to hide it from her.
The whole cast were remarkable in their roles and the movie had a great story from beginning to end.
I highly recommend this.

This movie is great!!! It is a very old-time heart warming movie. Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses. She is just a child in this, but still a great actress!!! I recomend this movie to everyone!!!

For those who like gushy sentiment, prosaic stories

I really have no idea why everyone likes this film. I got this movie from Netflix and sat down, all ready to see a really cool movie bc Amazon gave it 5 stars, and I just couldn't believe what I was watching. Its this wholesome crap movie set in the South, basically *spoiler* witherspoon and her sister fall for the same guy, he decides to like the older one cause she's more "developed" per sey but I think she's really ugly as her hair is a puffy mess for the entire length of the film. After Reesy being all huffy at the sister the boy gets killed in a farming incident, and the movie just spirals quickly down from there. I felt highly depressed and disappointed after watching this piece of garbage. This movie completely ruined my Saturday night with its lame, cliche story of a southern girl coming of age in the nerdiest way possible. I think the title is also sort of misleading because the word "moon" for me lead me to think there might be lovely philosophical tidbits, boy this is not what this film has at all. This story has zero depth, everything is very latently expressed. I would not reccomend this movie unless they like really dinky, low-budget movies with family heart-to-heart hallmark sentiment.

Perfect gift for my niece...

I had an old VHS copy of this movie that my niece(6 yrs) would watch when she visits me, but it would skip and freeze up....I got her the DVD for Christmas and she watches it at least twice a day.... Great movie for kids and adults....
