Plot: Bored with their cushy suburban existence, yuppie David (Albert Brooks) talks his wife Linda (Julie Hagerty) into selling everything they own and hitting the road to see America. As a starting-over gesture, David and Linda are romantically remarried in Las Vegas -- which, ironically, proves to be the beginning of the end of their idyll. In short order, Linda loses their life's savings, the couple nearly self-destructs at Hoover Dam, they take blue-collar jobs in a go-nowhere Arizona town, and....Well, if you know your Albert Brooks, be prepared for a steady stream of manic social satire. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Funny to some but aggravating for me. I like a definitive & a direct communicator in movie characters. This movie contains neither and rambles on and on and on .......! Ugh!

Corporate Truth

Great Flick !Exposing the raw bone of corporate hierarchy, this movie lays into the notion that the best rise to the top, and that to really make it in the world of top executives, you need to be less talented and less creative.

This movie also has one of my favorite lines; " he's going to tell you how great the future is going to be here, don't believe him, I've seen the future - it's a bald headed man from New York"

this movie is hilarious. i am not an easy laugher and most movies that are supposed to be funny just make me roll my eyes. the situation is very easy to relate to--who hasn't dreamed of chucking the corporate life and living more simply? men and women will enjoy it equally. i even sent a dvd to my financial advisor.

Really Funny
Added 5/8/2007

This movie is laugh out loud funny. The basic plot is that the Albert Brooks character decides to drop out of the rat race with his wife, perfectly played by Julie Haggerty. They liquidate their assets, invest in a Winnebago and plan to live the rest of their lives on the road w/ the cash that they've received in liquidation. To get the adventure started, they make an ill-advised trip through Las Vegas and their plans are soon altered. Cathartic and hilarious. Definitely worth seeing
