Plot: The third entry in Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible film series involves super Impossible Mission Forces (IMF) agent Ethan Hunt (Cruise) being forced back into the field just when he was planning on marrying his girlfriend, Julia (Michelle Monaghan). The agency asks Hunt to save an operative (Keri Russell) he trained after weapons dealer Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman) kidnaps her. With the help of his field team -- played by Ving Rhames, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and Maggie Q -- Hunt achieves his goal, but becomes involved in a web of double-crosses that leave him wondering if he can trust his superiors (Billy Crudup and Laurence Fishburne). Eventually Davian threatens Julia's life in order to get away with his evil plan. Simon Pegg appears as an IMF tech expert. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

"Are You In?" "Of Course We're In." Engaging, But Slightly Confusing, Installment In The Mission: Impossible Series.
Added 11/14/2009

WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS. IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE MOVIE RUINED FOR YOU, THIS REVIEW WILL SELF-DESTRUCT.

The 3rd installment in the "Mission: Impossible" series is an engaging, but slightly confusing, actioneer. Let me get the moment that confused me out of the way. SPOILER AHEAD!!! Was Keri Russell a bad girl in the film? Because late in the movie, the Billy Crudup character pulls back a mask and the face is only partially revealed, but I think it was Keri Russell. I'm just not sure. I also didn't understand the subsequent revelation very much. SPOILER OVER!!! could somebody please clear that up for me? Philip Seymour Hoffman was a forgettable villain. Yea, he was ruthless, but not charming at all. He was only C-O-L-D. No emotion whatsoever. That's fine for Hannibal Lecter, but for a villain in an action movie? Come on. Tom Cruise, as always was excellent. Laurence Fishburne would have made a much better villain than Seymour Hoffman. Rated PG-13, but it should have been rated PG.

Great movie!
Picture quality and sound quality is great.
CHEAP.
Any older movies you want on HD-DVD will usually be very cheap.
If you still have an HD-DVD player, you should definitely pick this up. ~3 dollars? Who can't refuse that kind of deal?!
Pretty good series, I liked this one the best out of the series.

Can't go wrong, and if for some reason you don't like it. You're only out 3-5 dollars! That's less than fast food!

Entertaining Movie - better than MI 2

I enjoyed this movie - Mission Impossible 3 and there was some fast paced, high octaone stunts with a clver plot. Much better than MI 2.

Good locations and great action.

This is my favourite of mission impossible series.

The blu ray is just ok,

good video transfer 4/5 and also good audio transfer 4/5.

Poor supplemental and extras 2/5

A must buy for all MI fans

I didn't see this in theaters because it looked like they were trying to milk the franchise. I was completely wrong! This actually turned out to be my favorite in the franchise, and not only did it deliver the goods but it enhanced it. The opening to this movie is what I believe to be one of the most tense and nerve-racking scenes I have ever seen, and for the rest of the movie there is this underlying urgentness to everything that is occurring, gluing you to your seat and not giving you the chance to even get up and get a drink of water. Absolutely amazing and realistic action, there are moments where you really feel like you are there with the characters, being shot at and being blown away from explosions. This was Director J. J. Abram's first movie, but it totally looks like he's been doing this for years. And with his recent Star Trek motion picture, he's proven even more that he knows what he is doing. I highly recommend this movie, and am very happy to have purchased such a wonderful piece of storytelling.
