Plot: It's said that most American men think about sex once every two or three minutes, but this statistic would seriously underestimate the horniness of Jim (Jason Biggs), a high school senior in suburban Michigan. Jim is thoroughly obsessed with sex, a fact of which his parents become aware when they discover him performing the sin of Onan with a gym sock while watching scrambled pay-per-view porn. Jim's buddies Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Oz (Chris Klein) are no less anxious to relieve themselves of their virginity, so they all make a pledge: they will go to bed with a woman in the three weeks before senior prom or die trying. Kevin appears to have the advantage, since he already has a girlfriend, Vicky (Tara Reid), but before he ventures into the Final Frontier, Kevin is urged to consult The Bible, a hand-written how-to manual possessing erotic wisdom passed down through the ages. Oz is a good-looking jock who is actually a nice guy -- which is part of the problem, since he has his heart set on a nice girl, Heather (Mena Suvari), who does not seem the type to leap into bed within 21 days. Finch has no immediate prospects, though Jessica (Natasha Lyonne) is in a position to know if those rumors about him are true. And Jim is a truly hopeless case -- after his attempted seduction of beautiful Czech exchange student Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) turns out to be a disaster, he ends up going to the prom with Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), an annoyingly chatty band geek who does, however, have a fascinating story about a flute. American Pie was the directorial debut of Paul Weitz, who, along with his brother Chris Weitz (who served as producer), previously wrote several screenplays, including Antz and Madeline (where they presumably worked all their wholesome ideas out of their system). ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

American Pie

Very Funny movie unlike many teen flicks/college flicks, the 1st ones are always the best, American Pie is a Modern Classic. And it's Hilarious. Stifller is the BEST! and his Mom too.

Ok, don't take me wrong... I didn't LIKE the movie, I only rate it high because it does genuinly deal with the issues 16-17 year olds deal with in the USA (believe it or not). The movie does have a few moments that made me laugh, but although I was not a participant in such nonsense during my highschool years, I couldn't stop pairing up the events next to those that I did see happen at school.

However, in real life, these things aren't as funny. Quite the opposite.

If you're a parent in the USA with kids in highschool, you must endure the pain to watch it. It's your duty.

A fun and funny movie

This is the story of Jim, Kevin, Finch and Oz, four teenagers who are determined to lose their virginity by prom-night. OK, they fail miserably, but what they lack in ability they make up for in pure determination!

This movie definitely lies within the movie genre of "teenage sex farce," but it is definitely among the top 10 movies in that genre. Filled with a lot of goofiness and cringe-worthy farce, it romping good time. Now, as you might expect with the genre, the movie lacks depth of any sort, and will never pass as a work of cinematic art.

But (and it's a big BUT), this really is a fun and funny movie, keeping you giggling and rolling your eyes right through. So, if you want a night of mindless humor, then pop this DVD into your player, get some soda and popcorn, and enjoy.

The joy of growing up. Women, Parties, and Pie.

Jim, Oz, Kevin, and Finch. Four 18 year old virgins on a quest to break the curse. After having gone through another one of Stifler's parties without getting laid, they decide to make a pact. A pact that by Prom, they will all have gotten some tail. Within those 3 weeks though, nothing goes as planned. Jim (Jason Biggs) makes a fool of himself in front of his dream girl and actually all of his school, thanks to the Internet. Kevin (Thomas Ian Nichols) can't get past the `L' word so he can round third base with his girlfriend Vicky (Tara Reid). Oz (Chris Klein) tries to hard with cheesy lines, and we he is himself, Stifler (Sean William Scott) and his rude ways screws it up for him even then. And then there is Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), who is a little too sophisticated for his high school peers and has to lie about himself to hopefully get laid. As everything is going wrong for them, and time is nearing an end, they begin to realize that sex isn't everything.

Man I remember when this movie came out and how much I laughed at the theaters... hard. 10 years later American Pie still holds up, but honestly it feels a lot tamer now than it did. A lot of movies now have pushed the limit even farther than American Pie did such as how American Pie pushed it farther than say Porky's or Animal House. The movie is still very funny though so don't think I'm saying it's not. The scenes between Jim and his father are still uncomfortably embarrassing laughable just like the first time. Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) is still smokingly hot also...hehe. And Stifler is still crazy and is still one of my favorite characters in the movie. I just love how non-caring he is.

In the end I would definitely own this movie. It definitely has its crude moments, but I still feel it's a littler tamer than the comedies that are like this that are out now.

P.S. - What did you do to yourself Tara Reid? You used to be a goddess!
