Plot: Nick Chen (Chow Yun-Fat) was the first Chinese-born immigrant in the NYPD, and is now one of the force's most decorated officers. As such, he's been named leader of the city's Asian Gang Unit, who are the primary peacekeepers in Chinatown. Trouble has just arrived for the Triads, the long-entrenched Chinese gangsters who are the real power behind Chinatown. After years of posing as honest businessmen, the Triad's powers are threatened by the newly arrived Fukienese Dragons. With a gang war on the horizon, the city sends a new recruit, Danny Wallace (Mark Wahlberg), to join Chen's unit. Danny finds Chen and the AGU in a very comfortable (perhaps too comfortable) relationship with the Triads. When the mobsters attempt to corrupt Danny, Chen must reassess his relationship with the Triads, and Danny must also learn that certain concessions must be made to ensure the peace in this world set apart from the rest of New York. ~ Ron Wells, All Movie Guide

I was not pleased with the fact that the product was offered for sale and then not available to ship thank you for refunding the money however, perhaps in the future we can do service together.

The Big Hit (1998) Poor Mark Wahlberg. He just wants everyone to like him, but when you're a contract killer with a money grubbing fiancee (Christina Applegate), a greedy girlfriend (Lela Rochon), a tough no-nonsense boss (Avery Brooks) and a weaselly coworker (Lou Diamond Phillips) who'd sell his mom for a quick buck, you're not likely to find yourself a happy man. So goes the plot of this goofy action comedy from the producers of Broken Arrow. Though the script to this is at times amusing, with assassins who pause in the middle of a hit for a coffee break, and Wahlberg forced to extreme slapstick measures to keep a kidnap victim he's been stuck with hidden from his fiancee and her stereotypical Jewish parents (Lainie Kazan and Elliot Gould), it also gets smug in its attempts to be hip, which works against the movie as a whole. Also, it's lucky this is a comedy, because while there is some good stuntwork involved, too many scenes are cartoonishly computer assisted to be taken seriously at all. If you see this in the right frame of mind it would probably tickle you, but if not it'll more likely annoy you. If you do see it, you will have to give Lou Diamond Phillips some points for pulling out all the stops as the flamboyantly flaky Chico. But if the premise seems shaky to you, you should probably avoid this one. Also starring Antonio Sabato Jr.

Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch
Added 11/4/2008

This funky bunch is better than his first funky bunch and this movie is hilarious and should be seen by any fan of Mr. Wahlberg.

Lou Diamond and the other two give a pretty standard performance for their careers. OWN IT!!!

Mark Wahlberg's first great film
Added 10/30/2008

Simply stated, a funny movie with some pretty good action and alot of great b-movie stars. Mark Wahlberg was small time when this movie came out in 1998. With the exception of Boogie Nights, which I did not care for, this was Wahlberg's first great movie. Add this to your collection for sure.

That sucks becasue i really like mark wahlberg. I just didnt like this move. I didnt even finsih watching it, thats how not interseting it was. Im glad it was cheap, cuz it really wasn't a total waste of money. In my opinion, not really worth wathcing.

High hopes wre shot down
Added 3/26/2008

I had high hopes for The Corruptor as I thought a movie with Yun-Fat and Walhberg would be decent but I was wrong. The direction by James Foley is very slow paced and the action seqeunces are long and drawn out. I say if you're a die hard fan of Yun-Fat check this out other wise avoid it.
