One of the better animation titles so far, this decade
Added 11/15/2009
I am somewhat of a fan of animation movies, and I just wanted to rate this movie as one of the top 10 that I have seen recently. Yes, the storyline is somewhat clichéd and the characters are clichéd, as well, but the animation and the thrill of the adventure more than make up for it. From one adversity to another, how will Sinbad overcome unsurmountable odds? oh but he does- watching this unfurl on the screen is what is so great about this movie!

Even though the tape only cost $1.00. Reading up on the description from the buyer who claim it was is new condition. I found this comment not to be true at all. The tape is truely only worth a $1.00. The movie is VERY BLARE. The only reason I have not send it back is because it is not worth the returned fee.

Okay, but Ray Harryhausen has nothing to worry about

Sinbad - Legend of the Seven Seas is a little less rushed than usual for a DreamWorks 2D animation, but it still never quite works. The plot feels a bit too TV and the mixture of traditional hand-drawn animation with computer graphics isn't exactly successful, with the CGI coming off as the loser - generally fine for the creatures, though like Sinbad's ship they often seem to lack any real weight that prevents them from properly integrating with the rest of the film. Okay if you're in an undemanding mood, but Ray Harryhausen has nothing to worry about.

Great Entertainment

I LOVE this movie. I first saw it in the theaters and the ocean scenes, music, shipboard fighting and monster had me hooked in the first 5 minutes. It's more along the lines of a "rollicking" Douglas Fairbanks or Errol Flynn movie. There's great fighting, monsters, romance. The film's dialogue is great fun and my children and I quote it constantly, "I'm bad...Sinbad." There is so much action, they are excited all the way through. The sidekick "Spike" is awesome. Voice casting is excellent. I love Michelle Pfeiffer as Eris, and Brad Pitt as Sinbad (Joseph Fiennes as Proteus, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Marina and Dennis Haysbert as Kale)....The animation is also incredibly creative. Eris moves so well, she is sinuous and evil. This film is fun for all, my children started watching it at 2, they are now 8, I am 45. It's just a rollicking good time!

Pretty Good

This movie has several big name actors in it but I don't remember there being a big deal made about this movie when it came out. I only got it because it was cheap, but I'm glad I did. It was much better than expected although not top notch.
