You people are imbeciles if you want to buy this

This movie along with the Twilight movie RUINED the Twilight series. If you actually liked the book before it became outrageously popular, do NOT watch this movie. I watched the first movie and was very let down by the poor casting in my personal opinion and the even worse acting. I saw the previews for New Moon and I feared it was going to be just as bad as the first movie. Many vital parts of the plot were left out or altered completely to fit in a different section of the plot. But I'm an optimist and watched it anyway. I was let down. Eclipse is going to be just as bad, if not worse. Stephanie Meyer was a genius... until she sold the rights to this movie and such a horrible cast was chosen.

New Moon: Good, but could've been great.
Added 2/8/2010
The book "New Moon" incorporated a lot of emotions. Let me tell you, reading through Bella's perspective you really feel it when Edward leaves her. But then you also feel the connection with Jacob, and the happiness when Edward returns. The book was fabulous, but I think the movie was just about mediocre. This time around, the director really had an opprotunity to make this movie GREAT, and it was good, but it wasn't that good. I wish they would have paid attention to more of the feeling that Bella goes through, and I wish they would have paid more attention to Rob's facial expressions. In some parts of the book, he is happy to see Bella. Maybe they should've paid a little more attention to when he's looking like she's the pariah.
Oh, and Ashley Greene=TERRIBLE acting in this one, girl.

New Moon: Review
"5 out of 5 stars" - Chayce Brantley
Hey! The name's Chayce... Don't forget it. I am in my pre-teens and enjoy fictional/fantasy movies, mangas, and books. The reason I chose this movie was because of the drama... and the vampires!
The main character, Isabella Swan (a.k.a. Bella), is having her birthday in a house full of vampires ("vegetarian," of course). When she gets a paper cut, things with her boyfriend's brother, Jasper Cullen, starts to go wrong... he attacks her. Luckily, her boyfriend pushes her out of the way, saving her life.
After getting Bella to safety, the couple broke up. He said, and I quote," This is the last time you will ever see me." Her friend, Jessica, tried to cheer her up, but her emotions for him were too deep to mess with. At night, she would scream and yell as memories of Edward (her ex-boyfriend) ran through her mind, screaming and playing with her emotions.
She went into great depression after the break-up. For months, she sat inside and would only look out her 2nd-floor window at the ground. Until one day, when Alice Cullen (Edwards younger sister), came to see Bella. Edward had heard of Bella's little cliff-diving stunt a week before and thought she was dead. He then went to the nasty and evil Volturi family who handled vampires who wanted to die. They thought he was a special kind of vampire because of him being so young and pure. They decided not to kill him... yet. Alice and Bella raced to Vancouver, Canada where the Volturi rested with Edward. Edward was going to show himself (his vampire self) to the "pale faces" (a.k.a. humans). Bella got there in the nick of time to save her lovers life. The Volturi were not very pleased when he saw Bella and decided to stay alive.
In the end, the battle of the century was thrown down. Werewolves vs. Vampires. Jacob Black (Bella's secret werewolf-lover), and Edward (her ex-boyfriend) had a major fight over her. She breaks up the fight then, unexpectedly, Edward proposes to her...
This had to be the BEST movie of the decade!! Whoever denies this to be the world's GREATEST movie will die a slow and painful death! Just joking... maybe.
The first thing you may notice about this movie is the vampire's features. Their eyes are a golden-brown when they are not hungry, but when they are hungry, a blood-lusted color, or a pitch black will come upon their eyes. Their fangs are so cool! They slip over the actor's canine teeth, and the make-up artist puts a thin, light yellow sheet of paper over them to match the actor's regular teeth. The vampire actors put on a suit that is covered in diamond-shaped studs.
The drama in this GREAT movie was another thing that touched my heart. It, to me, was so very heart-felt. Some parts made me cry, others were too deep for me to feel at my young age.
The point of this whole movie was the vampire/human relationships. Two totally different types of beings came together as boyfriend and girlfriend (vampire and human). You really need to see this movie, or you shall suffer my wrath... maybe...

Excellent movie. Stayed true to the book for the most part.
Added 2/7/2010
This is an excellent movie. I read the books before I would allow my preteen (now teen) daughter to read them. I watched Twilight right after I finish reading the book and was disappointed that it didn't stay true to the book. I watched New Moon right after I finished reading the book and I have to say that they did an excellent job of staying in line with the book. It is an excellent movie and I plan on purchasing it as soon as it comes out. My daughter finished New Moon but it has already left most of the theaters so she will have to wait until the DVD comes out. She is very disappointed. She can't wait!

Maybe I would have enjoyed this better had I not read the books? I felt very disappointed at how many details were left out, the completely different look of the sets, the actors... I realize to have included more about each character, or relationship, would have taken more time than one movie would allow; I just felt like I was being told half a story. As "popular" as these books have become, step it up and get better direction/production.
Kudos to Taylor Lautner for stepping into the actual look of "Jacob", though. Wouldn't hurt for Pattinson to do the same, considering his character in the book is so often described as "perfect".
If you haven't read the books and think you might be interested, do yourself a favor and read them. I was a skeptic, thinking they were "teen reading", and really, really enjoyed them, and I'm old enough to be the Mom of the focus group. I would have loved to have been able to give this 5 stars. Sadly, I can't.
