Having been sent away to study in France when he was only 10, 30 years later Patrick is a renowned historian. He has let himself be assimilated to the point where he is now a black man with a white soul. But when his mother is about to die, he returns to Martinique with his only daughter during Carnivale. For three days, accompanied by his childhood friend Zamba, Patrick is swept up in the madness, emotion, and humorous situations he finds himself in that will change his life forever.
