"Before The Plate" attempts to close the gap in perception between the urban consumer and farmers in Canada. The project is currently following young farmers and industry experts in order to show the general population what a modern Canadian farm operation looks like. The film will eventually follow the food all the way from the farm, through processing and showcase the final product at Canoe, one of Toronto's most well known restaurants. The goal is to submit the finished documentary to TIFF for the 2018 festival. The project will follow various types of agriculture, including Organic and Conventional practices to help showcase all aspects of Canadian farming.
