Chronically Metropolitan revels in the romance and glamour of big city living, while satirizing the many things people do to succeed professionally, even if it spells disaster for their personal lives. Chris Noth stars as an illustrious literary lion who is as famous for his womanizing as for his writing, and whose wild ways finally catch up with him. Playing his son, also a writer, is Shiloh Fernandez, who returns to NY following a scandal caused when a story he wrote revealed too many details from his love life. Like his father, he wants to be hot more than he wants to be happy, and now he needs to rethink his priorities. And, as the woman who binds them, acclaimed actress Mary-Louise Parker stars as the long-suffering wife-and-mother who has to teach both of the men in her life what really matters. With assorted friends and family rounding out the ensemble, Chronically Metropolitan plays out against a colorful backdrop of 5th Avenue penthouses, Tribeca lofts, and a catalog of landmarks and monuments that are quintessentially Manhattan and-- as its title suggests--utterly metropolitan. A modern morality play about life and art and how to be good at both, the film is an engaging and amusing entertainment about the way we live now.
