Dear Father

Dear Father, the film revolves around a three-member family, a young couple, Ajay Joshi, a lawyer; his wife Alka, a professor of Mathematics; and Ajay's elderly father Manubhai. Behind the facade of a happy average middle-class family, things take a turn when there are some mysteries revealed and secrets unfolded. The story is a representation of a growing sense of alienation in the minds of the senior citizens of today's nuclear family structures. They are distanced from the mainstream of family action, having been denied the pivotal roles of the now-defunct joint families, hence some of the old folks demand attention by being of nuisance value. The film highlights the futility of the logic of today's pompous professional generation in trying to pin down hapless parents in hopeless debates.
