Fantasia

Throughout history, there have been but a handful of groundbreaking films where the soundtrack has become inextricably linked to the cinematic achievement of the film itself. There is perhaps no greater example of this marriage than Walt Disney’s 1940 masterpiece, Fantasia. Seventy-five years after conductor Leopold Stokowski’s seminal work on the film, the acclaimed conductor Yannik Nezet-Seguin now leads The Philadelphia Orchestra. This 75th Anniversary edition will include a newly recorded behind-the-scenes look from the orchestra’s rehearsals, including a selection of pieces from Fantasia. And as if that weren’t spectacle enough, Yannik Nezet-Seguin will lead an exclusive, up-close-and-personal discussion about the history of Stokowski, Fantasia, and the indelible imprint both left on the modern world symphonic world.
