In the grand tradition of Lassie Come Home comes this touching, delightful film—first-rate entertainment the entire family can enjoy together. Gypsy Colt is the remarkable saga of a beautiful, spirited horse whose devotion to his young mistress inspires him to brave deserts, mountains and untold perils to be reunited with her. Meg MacWade (10-year-old Donna Corcoran) and her orphan colt Gypsy are inseparable friends. When a terrible drought threatens to drive the MacWades from their farm, Meg's parents (Ward Bond and Frances Dee) are forced to make a heartbreaking decision. In order to survive, they must sell their daughter's beloved colt to a wealthy racehorse owner. Gypsy's new master is kind (although he employs a mean-spirited trainer played by Lee Van Cleef), but the bond between little Meg and her horse cannot be broken. The combination of teriffic performances, breathtaking scenery and an heroic story make Gypsy Colt a winning addition to your family library.
