This is the story of Nick (Juddy Talt, The Ghost Whisperer) a neurotic best-selling author on love, who can write eloquently on the subject, but can’t keep girls from leaving him. He gives his heart completely and unconditionally to his relationships without even thinking twice about it. Nick is the type of person who says I love you first, and two months too soon. After he comes back to his apartment in New York City to find his fiancé, Violet (Lara Pulver, True Blood, Da Vinci’s Demons) with another man, Nick seeks refuge with his long-time therapist Adam (Oscar Nunez, The Office, The Italian Job) Adam is more mixed up on love than Nick is. Nick decides to return to his hometown and to the only woman he had ever left, his mother, Mimi (Julie White, Transformers 1, 2 and 3, Lincoln, Go On). There, he renews his relationships with the people that matter the most, his family and friends, including reconnecting with his childhood best friend, Cubbie (Ethan Cohn, The Amazing Spiderman, United States of Tara, Gilmore Girls). By a simple twist of fate, he meets the free-spirited antiquarian bookseller Emma (Kate French, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The L Word), who challenges him to let people appreciate him for who he is.
