East London, the present. Emma (Zoë Grisedale), a model and party girl, faints on the catwalk at a rehearsal for the London Fashion Week. Her best pal Max (James Jeanette Main), hair stylist and occasional trannie queen, is bored of playing second fiddle to Emma's never-ending drama. He starts a destructive affair with jaded gossip journalist Teddy (Lewis Grolle), who is struggling to be a good dad to teenage George (George Mowlam). Emma escapes her worries by hitting booze, drugs and parties. She seduces young Alicja (Jasmine Polak), an aspiring photographer and newcomer to East London. Unfortunately, Emma's ex Leo (Ed Cooper-Clarke), a frustrated wannabe musician, also sets his eyes on Alicja - while Teddy uses Max to gather information on Emma to publish a sensationalist biography on her.
