Liz and the Blue Bird

Liz and the Blue Bird is a 2018 Japanese animated drama film directed by Naoko Yamada and written by Reiko Yoshida, based on the Sound! Euphonium novel series written by Ayano Takeda. Based in particular on the 2017 novel Hibike! Yūfoniamu Kitauji Kōkō Suisōgaku-bu, Haran no Dainigakushō Kōhen, the film is also a spin-off sequel to the Sound! Euphonium television series, taking place within the same universe and focusing on supporting characters; however, it was conceived to also function as a stand-alone story, and does not require knowledge of previous installments in the franchise.
