Pater

A mostly improvised tale of a filial relationship between a man who casts himself as president of the Republic (Alain Cavalier), and his choice for premier, played by Vincent Lindon. The pair picnic together and sip port in bars, speculating about a film they might make. Every once in a while, they don suit and tie, embodying men of political power. Partly personal, partly fictional, in any case, they're making trouble. The film premiered in competition at Cannes Film Festival.
