In Paris in 1880, at the age of 40, Auguste Rodin received his first commission from the State: the Gate of Hell made up of figurines, some of which will make his glory like Le Baiser and Le Penseur. He shares his life with Rose, his constant companion, when he meets the young Camille Claudel, his most talented pupil who quickly becomes his assistant, then his mistress. Ten years of passion, but also ten years of mutual admiration and complicity. After their break, Rodin continues his work with determination. He faced the refusal and the enthusiasm that the sensuality of his sculpture provoked and signed with his Balzac, rejected during his lifetime, the undisputed starting point of modern sculpture.
