Based on a novel by Kingsley Amis, this film follows the London arrival of Jenny Bunn (Hayley Mills, The Parent Trap), an attractive young teacher from the country with provincial ideas about love and marriage. She lodges with Dick and Martha (John Bird and Sheila Hancock), a married couple at odds with one another. Jenny quickly meets Patrick (Oliver Reed, Oliver!), who is determined to bed her despite her ideas about premarital sex. In offering Jenny his “advice” on contemporary men and morals, Patrick's good friend Julian (Noel Harrison, The Best of Enemies) isn’t above trying to seduce her himself. How will Jenny adjust to the amorous attentions of so many willing men? Newly remastered.
