Nancy Kwan stars as the free-spirited Polynesian girl who changes a staid English boarding school forever, a beautiful, carefree girl named Tamahine. When Tamahine's (Kwan—Flower Drum Song, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story) father dies, she becomes the ward of her cousin, the headmaster at a very proper, all-male English boarding school. Tamahine remains blissfully unaware that her beauty turns men into utter bumbling fools, breaking hearts as she passes through the campus; that she surprises the school by taking first prize in almost every event on "School Sports Day"; or that she shocks everyone by innocently posing nude for an artist. But she does find love with the son of the headmaster, and her straitlaced cousin moves to her native island when he retires. Based on the novel by Thelma Nicklaus.
