"The Art of Being Straight" explores the too often strict boundaries of being gay or straight from the perspective of today's younger generation. Jon (Jesse Rosen), a twenty-something who after a break-up with his girlfriend, moves to L.A. for a fresh start. Crashing on his buddy's (Jared Grey) couch, Jon regresses to the comforting college student lifestyle of partying, womanizing and sexist trash talk. Reconnecting with his old fling Maddy (Rachel Castillo) proves to be surprising when she introduces him to her girlfriend. Things get a little confusing when Jon's boss, Paul (Johnny Ray Rodriguez), takes a special interest in him. Meanwhile, Maddy's own confusion grows as she begins to fall for her neighbor, Aaron (Peter Scherer). The film features cameos from mumble-core filmmaker Joe Swanberg (Alexander the Last), and actors Greta Gerwig (Baghead) and Kent Osborne (Hannah Takes the Stairs).
