Town on Trial

In a quiet suburban English town, beautiful Molly Stevens is strangled on a quiet road and it falls to Scotland Yard Inspector Halloran (John Mills, Great Expectations) to investigate. Suspicion falls on several of the townsfolk, including the old country doctor (Charles Coburn, The Lady Eve), but severalclues point to a religious fanatic, whose actions were in response to repressed desire.
