Twilight Women

Vivianne is a young woman whose lover is arrested for murder just as she discovers that she is carrying his child. Following the publicity around the case, she is thrown out of her flat, and is forced to rent a room in a decrepit boarding house for unmarried mothers, owned by Helen, a mean and ruthless woman. Vivianne (Rene Ray) befriends another mother, Christine, who has arrived with a baby son. Christine receives news that her child’s father is arriving from America, and Vivianne offers to look after her child while she goes to meet him. However the child becomes gravely ill, and when Helen will not call a doctor, the child dies. What will happen when Christine returns?
