Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls) and Gena Rowlands (The Notebook) star in this poignant tale of faith, hope, love and loss based in part on the novel of the same name by acclaimed author John Edward. Is there life after death? For many, this ever-elusive question begs consideration and inspires reflection. For Jamie (Chabert), a young woman balancing the hectic demands of her job as an ER nurse with the planning of her upcoming nuptials, the answer is clear: there is no afterlife. But in the blink of an eye, Jamie's harried existence is brought to a standstill. After learning that her father died in a neighboring hospital room while she, unknowingly, tended to another patient, Jamie is inconsolable. Her grief overshadows her work, her relationship with her husband-to-be, and everything she used to love until a terminally ill patient (Rowlands) with incredible vitality and unswerving faith helps her cope with her sorrow, and leads her to change her life and her beliefs, in ways she could never have imagined.
