While outside of Capadocia, Teresa becomes interested in defending an indigenous girl accused of murdering the woman whose house she cleaned. During a hearing, the girl speaks in a dialect no one can understand. Teresa does some research and realizes that Lorena's baby is dying somewhere. After rescuing the child, Teresa brings it home with her and avoids the authorities. Meanwhile, Antonia ends up helping herself once she admits to having been a prostitute during the time when she was a transvestite. To Teresa's amazement, one of Antonia's customers was Judge Cedeño. Violating every moral code she's fought to uphold (and in order to save the lives of two of her prisoners), Teresa blackmails the judge with a tape Antonia provides. Sure enough, Cedeño admits the encounter to Teresa and reluctantly allows Antonia's transfer to Capadocia. He also orders Lorena's release. However, after her husband reveals he's seeing another woman and wants a divorce, Lorena is viciously attacked by Bambi. Not knowing of her impending freedom, Lorena fights back and kills Bambi. While Teresa reconnects with Burián, Lorena is sentenced to thirty more years in prison. (TVMA) (AC,AL,GV)
