It’s Guilty Pleasures Week! The All-Stars are dancing to those tunes you love, but don’t always admit so in public. Let’s see who was guilty of doing the best routines in this two-night event that includes a couple of team dances. Kelly & Valentin: After a trying week of rehearsals where Kelly was physically and emotionally exhausted, she and Valentin step it up on the dance floor with their slick samba to Cher Lloyd’s “Want U Back.” Len felt it took a little while for it to get started and it was a tad on the raunchy side for him. Bruno felt Kelly had a great spin, but her bounce should come naturally. Carrie Ann though Kelly was a little disconnected. It wasn’t her best, but she gave it a good try. 8, 8 and 8.5 gives them a score of 24.5 for their individual routine. Gilles & Peta: The crowd goes absolutely wild once Gilles and Peta complete their theatrical rumba to Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Bruno says that was not a dance but it was master class theater. It was one of the best performances he’s seen. Carrie Ann literally falls out of her chair while raving about the dance. Don’t worry, she’s okay. And she loved the dance. Len feels the dance should be Oscar-nominated. Scores of 10, 9.5 and 10 gives them a total of 29.5 for their individual dance. Kirstie & Maks: We have one word for you and it’s not “plastics.” It’s “quickstep” as that’s the dance Kirstie and Maks do to “Mrs. Robinson” from the soundtrack to The Graduate. The flowing routine ends with sexy silhouetted finish. Carrie Ann says this was Kirstie’s best dance even though she had one boo-boo in there. Len felt she was dancing to the Maks-imum. Bruno loves the variety of the footwork and she has nothing to worry about regarding her one minor miscue. 8.5, 8.5 and 8.5 gives them a total of 25.5 for their individual routine. Emmitt & Cheryl: Emmitt felt many would be surprised to hear he’d be dancing his samba to Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana.” Well, the real surprise is the audience reaction at the end. They are cheering so loudly that Emmitt and Cheryl can’t hear Len say he loved the performance. Bruno loves the party vibe Emmitt creates. Carrie says he has samba swagger. Scores of 9.5, 9.5 and 10 gives them a total of 29 for their individual performance. Team Dance 1: The team selected by Shawn and Derek looked like they could have been in deep trouble after Melissa suffered a serious neck injury during rehearsals. She was cleared to dance along with her partner, Tony. They join the rest of the team which includes Louis & Sabrina and Apolo & Karina. Team “Call Me Maybe” is decked out in cheerleader garb for their fun, crowd-pleasing routine. Len felt this was a total touchdown of a dance. The standards were just so high. Bruno felt it was almost impossible to distinguish the stars from the pros. All Carrie Ann can do is cheer, cheer, cheer for this fantastic team dance. Scores of 9.5, 10 and 10 gives them a total of 29.5 for this team dance.
