Dorothy Surrenders: Olympic Champ Can’t Dance On With the same grace she showed on the ice as an Olympic champion, Dorothy Hamill gave a heartfelt goodbye. A serious spinal injury could lead to irreparable damage if she continued her pursuit of the Mirror Ball Trophy. Dorothy just couldn’t do justice to the rest of the commitment, so she voluntarily pulled out of the competition. She thanked her partner, Tristan, calling him a “treasure.” With Dorothy taking herself out of the running, Team Victor and Team Lisa scored a reprieve since they were in the bottom two after all the fan votes were tallied. As for the rest of the Results Show, Zendaya & Val received the most tweets of any team, so they got to do an Encore Dance of their jive. One other highlight came when D.L. learned his fate. He said he didn’t notice the audience rise in support of him the night before. He was glad he redeemed himself and was overcome with emotion upon learning he was coming back for another week. It was a sweet, emotional moment. A fan even tweeted that D.L. brought her to tears. Here are the remaining teams returning for Week 3’s “Prom Night” extravaganza: Zendaya & Val Kellie & Derek Alexandra & Mark Jacoby & Karina Ingo & Kym Sean & Peta Andy & Sharna (team was in jeopardy) Victor & Lindsay (team was in the bottom two) Wynonna & Tony Lisa & Gleb (team was in the bottom two) D.L. & Cheryl
