Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: Heroes

Michaela is crushed when Matthew is determined to forego a university education in order to marry, and she fears that he's acting irrationally. Frustrated by her overprotectiveness and his desire for independence, Matthew undertakes a "vision quest," a Cheyenne ceremony in which a man searches for direction. Michaela, knowing he is spending four days and nights without food and water in the wilderness, worries that his quest to discover his manhood may cost him his life.
