Darnell hails from hip-hop royalty. His father heads Sugarhill records, and his grandmother discovered his uncle's group, the Sugarhill Gang, whose single 'Rapper's Delight' helped to make hip-hop music famous. Darnell's party theme is based on the movie, Coming To America. With a budget of half a million dollars, Darnell wants to feel like a Prince. Because his family is well-connected, Darnell rolls into New York to meet with singer Rihanna to ask her to be his Princess at his party. He gives her a $7,000 watch as a gift. She can't resist Darnell's charm and agrees to go to the party with him. Darnell finds the tiger that will be the perfect compliment to his party entrance. Unfortunately the adorable creature is an exotic animal and legal restrictions prevent it from appearing at Darnell's party. Bummer. Luxury car shopping will lift any kids' spirits. The BMW that Darnell wants is $77,000, so his father suggests that he settles for a Huyndai. Darnell asks, "What's that?" On the day of the bash, Darnell's good mood sours when Rihanna arrives hours late. But once she arrives, she's so beautiful that Darnell forgives her. The party starts with African performers on a red carpet. Darnell arrives with Rihanna on a camel as impressed partygoers scream and reach for Darnell like he's a star. After Juelz Santana hypes the crowd with his hit, 'The Whistle Song,' Darnell performs his own original rap song. His friends love it. Outside, Darnell's parents surprise him with a better car than he anticipated: a $110,000 Mercedes that Darnell isn't even old enough to drive! The roughly $300,000 Sweet 16 party proved that Darnell is hip-hop royalty. But it was "nothing for what I'm going to do for my 18th birthday party," Darnell laughs.
