Captain Gabriel Menck is a police negotiator. He spends his days making life-or-death decisions, defusing hostage-situations, terrorist threats and attempted suicides. But when his own wife is abducted, the negotiator now finds himself identified as the prime suspect. When Major Lara Chacur is hand-picked by Coronel Lopes as GATE’s new crisis manager, Menck and Chacur must learn to collaborate whilst navigating the cloud of suspicion that hangs over him. Menck insists on applying his unusual negotiating methods in a sequence of tense cases, but will he be able find the person responsible for his wife’s abduction?
