CHARLIE DRAKE plays "The Worker", who whilst willing to work, is actually, incapable of holding down a full job. In fact, Charlie is incapable of holding down a job longer than a day. He has been visiting his Labour Exchange for over 20 years and has had nearly 1000 jobs. Charlie's long suffering contact at the Weybridge Labour exchange is Mr Whittaker (PERCY HERBERT) in the first series and Mr Pugh (HENRY McGEE) in the subsequent series.
