As a powerful solar storm descends on the valleys of rural Pennsylvania, bathing the rustic pines in the shimmering emerald glow of aurora borealis, a retired priest named Douglas rouses awake to urgent knocking at the door of his isolated farmhouse. His unexpected midnight visitor is Hannah, a young Amish woman desperate for shelter after a personal crisis drives her to flee her insular community. Sensing an opportunity to right a wrong that’s haunted him for decades, Douglas invites Hannah into his home and vows to protect her through the night from a malevolent pursuer he can only assume is her husband. As he tends to this enigmatic stranger — aided only by flickering candlelight following a total power outage — he finds himself embroiled in a deepening mystery that suggests her presence might be directly connected to the dancing northern lights overhead as well as a fateful & terrifying encounter from his youth.
