Mistaken for Americans, a band of soldiers are captured by local ‘freedom fighters’ who are prepared to execute them for their cause. Upon realising they are in fact Australians, the soldiers agree to produce a hostage videos for their captors in exchange for their lives. When the videos unexpectedly go viral, the four bumbling soldiers quickly become global celebrities. With a new found taste for fame, they figure, why not do more? Perhaps being ‘caught’ is the best thing that could’ve happened to them? But panic and mayhem soon follow when Hollywood humanitarian and action hero Sean Penn parachutes in with a headline-grabbing, humanitarian offer to trade places with the hostages – potentially denying our hapless gang their earned shot at lasting fame.
